Parish School of Religion

Our Parish School of Religion offers Religious Instruction from Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. There are two sessions held on Sundays at the Parish Center:

  • Early Session: 8:15 – 9:25am
  • Late Session: 9:45 – 10:55am

 

Religious Education Program Objectives

The primary purpose of the St. Elizabeth / St. Brigid Religious Education Program is to assist the parents in passing on to their children the faith that marks them as the people of God.

The objectives of our program are fourfold:

  1. To prepare students to be active members of their faith community.
  2. To instruct students in the meaning and significance of their faith.
  3. To involve students at every grade level in the sacramental life of their faith.
  4. To encourage parents to assume their crucial role in their child's religious development.

General Policies and Information

Registration for New Students

Registration for new students is initiated in early spring and throughout the summer months. Hours and dates of registration are announced in the parish bulletins. We admit all students who are registered in our parish.

New students transferring from another parish Catholic School or a Parish Religious Education program or beginning Religious Education classes for the first time are accepted in grades K – 8, after providing a letter of verification from the previous parish that he/she was a member of the parish and completed previous levels of Religious Education. This letter must include sacrament history and include certificates for Baptism, Holy Eucharist, etc. Please provide progress reports if you have them.

Re-Registration Requirements

Students currently enrolled in the program are required to re-register in the spring for placement in the next year's classes. Forms for re-registration will be sent home with the students and are to be returned on the designated registration Sundays. See the parish bulletin for registration dates. Fees are payable at the time of re-registration. Checks are payable to St. Brigid's Church. A late registration fee will be assessed after the date posted on the registration payment form. Upon receipt of the fee and registration forms the student will be enrolled for the next school year.
